What is Crash control?

We all know that – Windows can sometimes crash. There is a procedure in the operating system, how to deal with it. This procedure contains saving memory dump file, logging the event and sending an alert.

Why is it a security issue?

Memory dump file could contain sensitive information such as passwords, certificates etc. High security computers should have more restrictive policy, when crash comes.

How to fix it?

Using GUI

  • Start – Control Panel – System – Advanced system settings – panel Advanced - Startup and Recovery – Settings.
  • Use the following settings:

Using a group policy

It is not possible to easy setup this policy in group policy. You can use some scripts, but it is over this manual (you can try to contact us).
